Boston, MA – Today, Romney for President announced the formation of "New Hampshire Students for Romney," a grassroots group that will help Governor Romney spread his vision for change in Washington to college campuses around the Granite State.

Together, these eleven young leaders will serve as Students for Romney Campus Chairs at their respective colleges and universities.

"These young leaders will be at the center of our efforts to organize and harness the support that Governor Romney enjoys among students at New Hampshire's colleges and universities," said Bruce Keough, New Hampshire State Chair of Romney for President. "As the Governor's campaign gathers momentum in New Hampshire and around the nation, we look forward to tapping the enthusiasm and resourcefulness of our student supporters."

"Governor Romney's success in reforming government to make it smaller and more efficient resonates with students who are worried that runaway federal spending will saddle our generation with a cumbersome bureaucracy and a big tax bill," said Christopher DuPuy, Campus Co-Chair at Southern New Hampshire University. "From Asian competition to the Jihadist threat, America is facing a new generation of challenges that call out for an innovative and energetic leader like Governor Romney."

Governor Mitt Romney on Today's Iraq Vote

Friday, Mar 23, 2007

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CONTACT: Kevin Madden (857) 288-6400

Boston, MA - Today, Governor Mitt Romney issued the following statement on the vote in the U.S. House of Representatives setting a timeline for withdrawal from Iraq:

"Capitol Hill Democrats have once again proved their inability to make Washington work in the right manner.

"The Democrat Congress' maneuver to micromanage our military efforts from their offices on Capitol Hill, along with the fiscally deplorable action of loading up a wartime spending bill with pork barrel earmarks unrelated to our military's fight against terrorism has provided the American people with yet another example of the Washington mindset run amok.

"Democrats in Washington have established a dangerous policy that essentially provides the enemy a planning calendar with a date certain surrender. By voting for such a policy, they have jeopardized our chances for success and endangered the mission of establishing democracy and defeating the terrorists in Iraq.

"All Americans want our troops out of Iraq, but we should never do so in a way that would jeopardize American security. Setting a public timeline without consideration of future circumstances, as they may exist at that time, is reckless and irresponsible.

"I urge President Bush to veto this measure and send a clear message to Washington Democrats that they must not and will not undermine the efforts of the United States military."
