People often misrepresent other people's actions as flip-flopping

Reasons to agree

  1. Those who don't agree with either extreme will explain why they don't agree with the first extreme, and the next day they will explain why they don't agree with the second extreme. Those with political agendas will point out that a simplified understanding of a person who doesn't believe in either extreme, in which those explanations are taken to illogical extremes, will contradict. For instance people will say that Mitt Romney is a flip-flopper, when one day he says gays should get SOME rights, and the next day he says gays should not have EVERY right. They say that Mitt Romney wants to have it both ways, just because he doesn't agree with either extreme. He doesn't hate gays, but he wants to do everything he can to say that children deserve a mother and a father.
