The thing about Seniors is they vote. We may ignore them because we are an internet site, and we don't think that Seniors are that involved in the internet, but they are. They actually have more disposable time to spend than many of us who are still rasing families. In fact, I would like to help create a Seniors for Romney site. Maybe you could contribute to this page, by doing something like this

With that said, here is some of the content I have been able to find related to Mitt Romney and Seniors. Please help!

Quotes from Governor Mitt Romney on Seniors

2006

  • “This will provide opportunities for adults who overwhelmingly want to age gracefully in settings in which they are comfortable. Until now, they’ve had far too few options.”

2005

  • “Our seniors should be able to live their remaining years in the comforting surroundings of their homes and communities,” said Romney. “We can help them by providing property tax relief and other tax breaks.”

  • “With the rise in property values, it makes it difficult for seniors to stay in their homes. Seniors should be able to stay as long as they want in the homes where they’ve raised families and created a lifetime of fond memories.”

2004

  • “We need to give seniors the help they need to stay in their homes as long as possible. With a little help, we can keep seniors in their own home instead of putting them into what for many turns out to be an inappropriate institutionalized setting. Our goal is to help meet the needs of our elders as they define them, not as a government bureaucracy defines them.”

2003

  • “Seniors in Massachusetts and across the nation are facing skyrocketing prescription drug costs. I have instructed my health care team to develop a discount program to ease the burden on all of our senior citizens. Massachusetts is one of the most generous states in the nation. But we will only be as generous as we can afford to be. Prescription Advantage now costs roughly $100 million a year to administer and our budget is strained to the breaking point. If Washington doesn’t pass the waiver we are requesting, fiscal reality will require us to end the program.”
