"War is a series of catastrophes that results in a victory".
Georges Clemenceau
"War is a cowardly escape from the problems of peace."
Thomas Mann
"Before a war military science seems a real science, like astronomy; but after a war it seems more like astrology".
Rebecca West
Passive Suffering is not a theme for poetry. If war is necessary, it is best to forget it’s suffering as we do the discomfort of fever.
WB Yates
"And finally, and most importantly, the next time we go to war, don't give a specific reason for the war that the left can seize upon and later flog us with it ad nauseam, just do it. Remember, the first rule of Fight Club is that you don't talk about Fight Club."
War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that Nothing is worth war is much worse. The per-son who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.

Quotes from Governor Mitt Romney on the Desert Storm
ROMNEY: Senator Kerry now tells us he has a clear position on the war on terror. He voted no on Desert Storm in 1991 and yes on Desert Shield today. Then he voted no on troop funding, just after he'd voted yes. He's campaigned against the war all year, but says he'd vote yes today.
