reversal of Roe vs wade

Page history last edited by PBworks 17 years, 9 months ago

Mitt Romney is the only president with the credability to oversea the reversal of Roe vs Wade.

Reasons to agree:

  1. Mitt Romney has proven that he believes in the rule of law.
  2. He is not going to be a polerizing person on this issue. He had a family member die from a back-alley abortion. He understand both sides.
  3. The former mayor of New York is pro-choice, and would probably appoint pro-choice judges.
  4. McCain Voted YES on allowing partial birth abortions.

This legislation, if enacted, would ban the abortion procedure in which the physician partially delivers the fetus before completing the abortion.

Status: Bill Passed Y)63; N)34; NV)3

Reference: Partial Birth Abortion Ban; Bill S. 1692 ; vote number 1999-340 on Oct 21, 1999

Romney has been a vocal opponent of the Supreme Court decision in Roe v. Wade, criticizing the “one size fits all” statute created by the ruling.53 The Governor believes each state should have the right to determine its own abortion laws, voicing support for efforts in states such as South Dakota to regulate abortion within its borders.54

Mitt Romney is pro-life though he recognizes and respects that the current law is essentially pro choice. In effect, he is "pro-choice" in that he wants each state to make the choice, not old people in robes.
