Every 12 people should get 1 vote

Every 12 people should get 1 vote.

Reasons to agree

  1. Sticking people in a room, and having them argue it out works pretty good for the legal system, why shouldn't we use it for voting?
  2. Who we vote for is just as important as if someone is guilty or not guilty.
  3. If people can't agree who to vote for, than either there is 1) no clear "best direction" or 2) someone in the group is incapable of understanding what is the best course of action. In either case their vote should not count.
  4. This would force people to try and argue for their beliefs.
  5. If you can't explain your beliefs in a format that allows for debate, then you don't deserve to have beliefs, and don't deserve the right to determine your country's future.
  6. Having to argue for your cause would force you to learn how to be a constructive member of society. Bullies may get their way, but would build resentment.
  7. Why not try it and see if it works? Sure we can argue till we are blue in the face, but there is no reason for a small community to not try something like this.
  8. You could have people go to a chat room, or have a telephone conference, if you didn't want people from the same community because you are worried about people's emotions causing them to say stupid stuff.
