killed Hitler

If killing is wrong, would you have killed Hitler, if you knew it would have saved millions of lives? The ends may justify the means, if in the long run it helps more people than it hurts.

Reasons to agree:

1. For every bad example you come up with, our side can come up with an equal example. Such as the Hitler example.
2. Most people believe there are some wars that were justified. I believe the actions taken by England, France, & America were justified in WWII. A lot of people also believe WWI, the American Revolutionary war, and Civil War were justified.
3. Jesus taught to turn the other cheek but he didn't command everyone to stand idly by while your spouse, children, children, friends, and family are murdered by a violent aggressor.
4. The least violent means of self defense is justified. However, sometimes a non violent solution is not available.

 

Reasons to disagree:

1. This form of thinking allows every person to make up their own mind.
2. Someone may convince themselves that it is OK to kill you with this type of logic.
3. The 9/11 terrorist probably used this form of logic. They believed that there message was more important than the lives lost on 9/11.
4. The Oklahoma City bomber probably used this type of logic.
5. No violence is justified.
6. Jesus taught to turn the other cheek.
