Online debate is broken. Most political content is either cheerleading for your side or demonizing the other. When you do engage someone who disagrees, you quickly realize that thousands of people have already argued the same points more thoroughly, and none of that work is available to build on. Every debate starts from scratch. Every rebuttal gets reinvented. Nothing accumulates.

Meanwhile, arguments that sound clever but crumble under scrutiny keep winning because nobody has time to trace every claim back to its evidence.

That is why we must create an ecosystem for linking evidence, arguments, and data to conclusions so that when you strengthen an argument, it will automatically strengthen all beliefs built on that argument.

We do this by:

Constructing an ecosystem that lets us use a modified version of Google's PageRank (ReasonRank) to:

Promote the best-performing arguments and facts (evidence or data) for each belief
Promote further analysis by identifying the best media (such as books, movies, podcasts) that explain each side best
Automate cost-benefit analysis by promoting the most likely costs, benefits, and risks
Automate conflict resolution by identifying the most likely shared and opposed interests, unstated assumptions, and best objective criteria

Bringing order to group-thinking by:

Grouping similar ways of saying the same thing
Starting with synonyms such as "Trump is corrupt" = "Trump is evil"
Grouping negated antonyms: "Trump is not virtuous" = "Trump is evil"
Sorting along intensity/moderate levels (i.e., "Trump is evil" is less strong than "Trump is VERY evil")
Sorting topics by more general and more specific sub-topics: "Trump has a low attention span" as a sub-topic of "Trump is not smart"
Developing one main topic page for all beliefs on that topic, organized by sub-topic
Developing a group of similar ways of saying the same thing that organizes similar ways of saying things chronologically, by popularity, wit, humor, etc.
Organizing our statements (beliefs) and criticisms (responses) by topic and generating comprehensive, well-organized lists of reasons given to agree and disagree with each belief, and the branching reasons to agree and disagree with them

We establish systems that create:

A "Survival of the Fittest" conflict between pro/con sides looking for ways to measure the fittest arguments
Conflict resolution between those who agree and disagree for each belief (using interest-based analysis)
A Wikipedia for belief analysis (crowdsourced, organized, focused on one topic at a time, but branching out to other topics)
Collective Intelligence
Evidence-Based Beliefs
Political Science (using the scientific process for conflict resolution and cost-benefit analysis)

We separate professed beliefs from actual beliefs by getting people to invest money in beliefs they think will or will not perform well after further investigation.
