The individual mandate opens the door to widespread regulation of the health care industry and political interference in personal health care decisions.
Reasons to disagree:
- This is the slippery slope argument, that people use when they can't argue against something, and so they argue against that thing taken to the extreme. "X is bad, because it could lead to Y." Well yes, but you just changed the subject to "Y" and we are talking about "X". You could make the argument that anything could lead to something else. Taxes, could lead to communism, should we get red of them?
