What do you think of Massachusetts politics?
Hugh Hewitt: Now your senior Senator, Ted Kennedy, went after Rumsfeld today, and then went to the Senate floor and declared, basically, Iraq to be a disaster. Governor Romney, I know you have to live with these people, but this rhetoric in Massachusetts, and from both your junior and senior Senator, is over the top.
Governor Mitt Romney: Well, you know, youβre absolutely right. One of the challenges of being one of the few red dots in an entirely blue state is, that I have to have Senator Kennedy and Senator Kerry as my Senators, and while we get along just fine personally, and now and then we collaborate, the statements that, particulary Senator Kennedy has leveled towards the president and towards the war, I think, are over the top. You may recall he said during the campaign, that the war in Iraq was a political plan, hatched in Texas by Karl Rove.
Hugh Hewitt: Yes.
Governor Mitt Romney: I mean, this kind of lunacy is just completely unfounded, and isnβt helpful to our effort in promoting freedom around the world.
