Reasons to agree
- Education is good.
- We don't want our kids growing up thinking education is bad.
- If what you think makes you conservative, does not stand up to scrutiny, then you should stop defending it.
- Un-educated people should not hate educated people... They should have enough self esteam to say that education is not everything, they did not get very much, but that they wish they had more, and they want their kids to get as much as they can.
- People should not be proud of their ignorance.
- Education is not everything, but it is better to be educated, than uneducated.
- Republicans say that democrats are guilty of the politics of jealousy, but many republicans hold an anti-intellectualism chip on their shoulder. Many republicans protested too much to the holding onto their bibles and guns criticism by Obama. The truth hurts a bit. But it should be good natured laughing at ourselves, like Jeff Foxworthy, instead of the angry white-redneck that is a dead end for the republican party.
Mitt Romney's election will help this a lot. It will be hard for all the Harvard hating rednecks in our party to deal with Romney, a Mormon from Massachusetts, and Harvard, but it will be good for our party.
